Moving on

After considering the costs, time and effort involved in fixing the rod problem, I decided just to get another engine. This is coming from a 1995 Monte Carlo at a junkyard in Lacey. They’ve compression tested it and all cylinders are 160-170, well above the 140-150 that I got from my current engine. It’ll be here on Friday, delivered for $700. I’ll fix the #1 engine later, and install it in the silver Fiero as I planned to do five years ago. If nothing else, I can just use the pistons/rods/caps from the 3.4 OHV engine it has in it now.
